Okay, so I needed to update my playlist to get myself off from the “last song syndrome” I’ve been getting from the last Bruno Mars album, Unorthodox Jukebox. It has been on repeat mode on my player and I thought it was high time to move forward (although I still play it LOL It’s a great album). Here are some additions to my playlist.
A far leap from what people think my type of music is. Yes, I am that eclectic. I can jump from Bruno to Frank Ocean to even Lana del Rey. So, yes… Jay Z. His latest album called Magna Carta… Holy Grail is pretty interesting. The hip hop album features vocals from Nas, Frank Ocean, Justin Timberlake and Mrs. Carter herself, Beyonce. But of course, it is what Jay Z has to say that is most noticed in the tracks. Each song is well produced and leaves a significant impression. My personal favorites are Holy Grail, Tom Ford and Part II (On The Run).
After bringing sexy back in 2006, Justin releases his 3rd studio album called The 20/20 Experience. As always, his distinct voice & soulful falsetto soars and his catchy beats just infect your entirety to bob along with it. My personal favorites are Suit & Tie, Strawberry Bubblegum & Mirrors.
As of this writing, Robin Thicke’s 6th album, Blurred Lines is still on the pre-order list but to give us a sample of what’s in store, he released the single of the same title. Based on write ups, Thicke describes this upcoming album as more “poppy’ and fun. Blurred Lines is catchy and features T.I. & Pharrell. A Cave Kings Remix was also released but nothing beats the original track. Also, the music video is worth checking out. (the one on the link is the safe version LOL. There is an unrated version which you need to log on to for age verification)
